Pearland Juniors is very pleased to welcome Gabriella Carbone to our staff at Pearland Juniors for our Summer Camps. This has been a big year for Gabi, as she just finished her first season as a Division I NCAA coach. Gabi is the newest assistant coach for the University of Houston Cougar volleyball program.
After graduating from UH in spring 2003, Carbone coached volleyball and soccer at Houston Christian High School, leading her soccer team to a third-place finish in the state tournament. She has also coached club volleyball for four years.
As a player for UH head coach Bill Walton in 2000-01, Carbone set records for digs per game with 3.55 and service aces per game with 0.39. She finished her playing career with 756 digs and 74 service aces in 57 matches.
Before coming to the Cougars as a player in 2000, Carbone was a standout at Seward County Community College in Liberal, Kansas. In her junior season she garnered First-Team JUCO All-American honors after averaging 3.25 kills, 3.80 digs and 1.01 digs per game.
At the University of Houston, Coach Carbone is responsible for recruiting, team travel, camps and clinics and on court coaching. |
