Pearland Juniors Volleyball Club

Welcome to Pearland Juniors Volleyball Club. Pearland, Texas is south of Houston, about halfway between Houston and Galveston, and near the NASA Johnson Space Center.

The director of Pearland Juniors is Bea Aguilera. She founded the club in 2002. The goal continues to be to provide area volleyball players with a high performance, competitive club program in which to participate, while at the same time providing a strong ethical and positive motivational atmosphere. The 2007/2008 is the sixth season for our club. We look forward to continuing the great success we enjoyed in the last four years.

We are committed to growing only as fast as we can maintain our high level of performance and values. If you are interested in coaching at Pearland Juniors, please contact us. We also have a unique Player Development program that helps prepare athletes for participation in club and school volleyball. In 2008, we have participants from 26 different schools from around the greater Houston area.

In just five years, Pearland Juniors Volleyball Club has established a high performance reputation. In 2004, our 14 Maroon team won the Bronze Medal in the 2004 Junior Olympic Girls Championships American Tournament. Athletic achievement is important to us. But Pearland Juniors also strives to develop the athlete as a person. When approached positively, athletics teaches life skills.

Our athletes learn the lessons of winning and losing. Winning with grace. Winning without false pride that causes future failure. Losing with honor and respect for the opponent.

Our athletes learn how to deal with pressure. The butterflies an athlete feels when she serves game point? Not unlike the butterflies she feels when walking in the room to take the SAT.

Our athletes learn respect for teamwork. The best player on a team cannot succeed by herself. The contributions of every player on the team are important.

Our athletes learn the importance of goal setting and how hard work in preparation leads to success. They learn to approach practice as a time to change how they play, for the better. Doing the wrong thing more often is not much help. It is better to change, and do the right thing.

It remains true that much of an athlete’s advancement and improvement is still up to the individual. Good work habits and commitment are necessary for top success as an elite player. And God given gifts of athletic talent, size and speed are empowering. But this athlete also needs elite training and positive structure. Players from beginners to seasoned veterans, who have a sincere desire and commitment to improve, have found that USAV club participation will maximize their chance for success. If you share our philosophy and our commitment to excellence, we hope that you will consider Pearland Juniors Volleyball Club. Let us succeed in helping you succeed.
